I was born on a family farm in a rural part of the Guang dong Province in China. Our farm was a bustling place, filled with an orchard, hogs, chickens, fish, cows, and rice paddies. We also had a forest where I would roam as a child, picking wild fruit and berries. We grew all our own food, ensuring that everything we cooked was made with fresh, daily-harvested ingredients, as we had no refrigeration.
Cooking was more than just a necessity; it was a lifestyle for our family. We all had our roles in the kitchen farm. Even at the age of five, I had my own tiny rice paddy that I was responsible for. These early experiences instilled in me a deep love and respect for the art of cooking.
What I cook today brings with it a lifetime of family tradition that has been passed down through generations. Each dish is made with the same authenticity and love, using recipes that were developed centuries before I was born.
Now, I am blessed to bring these authentic Chinese flavors thousands of miles from China to my new home on the beautiful island of Maui. It is my joy and honor to share with you the rich, flavorful dim sum that carries with it a lifetime of family tradition and love.
